Human Resources Coordinator

Our company operates a wide range of businesses that includes group experiences, overnight accommodations, campsites, snowmobiling, the Wolf Centre, forest management, five sawmills, and a biochar operation. We are proud to be a keystone member of our communities, with approximately 300 full time employees. Our company has offices and operations in Haliburton, Huntsville, South River, Palmer Rapids and Madawaska.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Coordinator will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and indirectly to the GM at the Madawaska location. This is an onsite full-time position with the opportunity for Hybrid work.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages onboarding/offboarding process
  • Employment and compliance, regulatory concerns, and reporting
  • Employee orientation, development, and training
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relations
  • Company employee communication
  • Benefits administration and reconciliation
  • Assist with employee safety, wellness, and health programs
  • Manage LOA processes, documentation, and communication
  • HRIS systems implementation and maintenance
  • Supports talent acquisition initiatives and recruiting

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in general Human Resources
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Competence in various Human Resources functional areas, including: recruitment, payroll, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, and organizational development
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to Human Resources, including OSHA and WSIB
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • An elevated level of judgment and discretion
  • Self-starter, with a "let's get things done" attitude
  • Must possess a high sense of urgency, initiative, and common sense
  • Team player with the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing and organizing workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work well in an environment subject to changing priorities and demands
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge and use of ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • CHRP certification preferred


SUPERVISION: This position does not directly or indirectly supervise staff.

 

FINANCIAL: This position does not have fiscal management responsibilities.

 

TRAVEL: This position may require limited travel within the region.
