ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Medical Lead - rTMS the rTMS Technician is responsible for delivering brain stimulation therapy to inpatients and outpatients of SJCG as per rTMS protocol as directed by the brain stimulation Psychiatrist.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

  • Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Completion of the rTMS Technician Training Course preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support and First Aid Certificates
  • One year of demonstrated direct experience working with patients with mental illness preferred

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with the rTMS team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior spatial/visual skills
  • Attention to detail superior tact diplomacy and sound judgement
  • Strong planning and organizational skills while working in pressure situations and dealing with conflicting priorities
  • Detail oriented and possesses a superior level of data entry when transferring data from handwritten forms
  • Sensitivity skills and experience working with diverse workforce and communities
  • Superior keyboarding skills with advanced knowledge of MS Word MS Access MS Excel MS Outlook and MS Powerpoint
  • Proficient with the operation of equipment related to the position
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with patient-facing medical technology and mental health support
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

 

Asset:

  • Bilingualism (French/ English) or the ability to speak a second language is considered an asset

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
